The "Grande Museo dell'Opera dell'Uomo" is opening again, from the 29th October 2015, only a few minutes walking distance from our hotel: Three floors, 750 works, 200 of which are on display for the first time, and masterpieces of the Renaissance by Arnolfo, Ghiberti, Donatello, Luca della Robbia, Antonio Pollaiolo, Verrocchio, Michelangelo…And a beautiful roof terrace with a unique view on the Cathedral.
The Basilica of San Lorenzoand the De Medici Chapel are both close to the hotel: the first one, historical church of the Medici family built by Filippo Brunelleschi in 1400 on top the ruins of the previous church, the oldest of Florence, still shows the authentic rough surfaced facade.
The Chapel, on the other hand, place of burial of the de Medici family, is famous for the tombs of Giuliano and Lorenzo De Medici, works of art of the famous Michelangelo.
